World Wide Consortium for the Grid

The World Wide Consortium for the Grid (W2COG) hosted a symposium in Washington DC.  This symposium provided a forum for sharing global information grid (GIG) expertise and technology to speed the transformation to Network Centric Operations (NCO).  W2COG is an international open consortium of government, industry, and academic engineers working on the continuing goal of advancing the networking technology to support NCO.  The W2COG aims to accelerate effective system interoperability between units and agencies in a highly complex environment where technical guidance can never be complete, there is no central authority, and both technology and situation are constantly changing.  The W2COG symposium was a unique opportunity to work directly with emerging GIG solutions – meaning live data, live networks, and live applications - and the professionals that field them.  The symposium was facilitated and coordinated by Frew & Associates.
